‘Children are particularly vulnerable to infections, and when involvement of the central nervous system (CNS) occurs, it can be devastating. Early recognition and treatment can alter the course of the illness. The clinical manifestations in children are also quite different and variable compared with adults. This book fulfills an important need in the field. The sections on management are very detailed, making this book of great practical importance and a must for all clinicians who are likely to encounter CNS infections.’ Avindra Nath, Clinical Infectious Diseases, 2015

‘The team of Singhi, Griffin, and Newton have, in my opinion, produced a valuable, scholarly resource for paediatricians and paediatric neurologists. All three editors are eminent in the field comprising that small zone of trisection in the Venn diagram that represents the bodies of knowledge making up paediatrics, infectious diseases, and neurology. As well as bringing a wealth of practical clinical experience and complementary research to their project, they have recruited an ‘A list’ of international contributors, each with personal experience and expertise in the areas of their contributions, to produce a remarkably well-balanced multi-author textbook.‘ J Simon Kroll, Developmental Medicine & Child Neurology, 2014

‘This book fills a void in the currently available material on central nervous system (CNS) infections in childhood. It is a multi-authored book ably edited by eminent Pediatric Neurologists. The contributors are scientists and researchers with great experience in CNS infections. The book will be certainly useful for pediatricians, infectious disease specialists and post-graduate students.’ Satinder Aneja, The Indian Journal of Pediatrics, 2014
