Cerebellar cysts are rare, typically small and multiple, and located preferentially in involving the posterior portions of the cerebellar hemispheres and the upper part of the vermis. They are relatively specifi c for some forms of congenital muscular dystrophies (CMD), but have recently been reported in other disorders too, such as Aicardi syndrome and polymicrogyria. In this chapter we discuss the differential diagnosis of cerebellar cysts and also describe other cerebellar neuroimaging findings encountered in patients with CMD.
